Home Staging Design Color Tips

Home Sellers may think it is quick, easy and cost effective to paint everything white when a home is up for sale but the right colors can actually be a smart, inexpensive staging tool.   A well-chosen color scheme in furniture and décor can do more than add appeal to rooms — it can evoke strong emotional responses. Potential buyers may find themselves drawn to a home with restful tones and unified accents throughout.

Consider some classy color combinations in appealing to Home Buyers:

1. Keep a unified sense of style throughout the home: Paint the largest spaces soft, neutral tones and combine those with accent colors in smaller spaces. All doors, trim and molding should be painted with a fresh, bright white color. Use complementary accessories in all the main living areas in order to create an open sense of flow.

2. Use color schemes to evoke the right feeling: Red is a bold, invigorating color best used in spaces where activity takes place such as the kitchen or the dining room. Blues and grays work well in spaces where buyers want to find rest, like bedrooms and bathrooms.

3. Greens are a popular neutral:  All shades of green are great colors in staging because they with everything from bold yellows to soft grays. Use it in small doses throughout a home with throw pillows, accent walls and artwork.

When staging, remember that colors create a sense of style.
